SA Ledger privacy policy

In short

SA Ledger is a mileage and expenses record book for UK sole traders, with a summary laid out for Self Assessment. Your records are stored on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect, receive or sell any of your information.

What the app stores, and where

The app stores vehicles (name and type), business journeys including the start and end places you type in, income entries and their sources, expense entries with merchant names, categories and notes, and any receipt photos you add. This is kept in the app's private storage on your device.

The app does not upload your records to us and has no online service of its own. Apple's App Store services are contacted only to load prices, make purchases and restore purchases.

Your records can leave the device in two ways: when you choose to share a PDF summary or export a backup file, which goes only where you send it; and through your own iPhone backup (iCloud or computer), which may include the app's data depending on your backup settings.

Permissions

Camera, only if you allow it, to photograph receipts.

Photos: when you choose existing photos, the system photo picker gives the app only the photos you pick. The app does not ask for access to your whole library.

Files: the system file picker is used to choose where to save a backup file (JSON) and to pick a backup file to import. A JSON backup contains your records and the file names of receipt photos, not the photos themselves. The app only reaches the files you choose.

Purchases

SA Ledger offers a one-off purchase that unlocks the full app. Payments are handled by Apple. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. To know what you have unlocked, the app keeps the purchase and transaction details Apple provides (such as product, transaction ID and expiry date) on your device.

Links

The app may open GOV.UK pages about simplified expenses and Self Assessment in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Deleting your information

Clear all data in the app's Settings removes your records and attached files. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device, including its settings. Exports and backups you made yourself are not affected; delete those separately.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the effective date before the change ships.
