Right to Work Check Log privacy policy
Effective 31 October 2026.
In short
Right to Work Check Log is a record book for UK small employers to keep their own right to work checks and follow-up dates. Your records are stored on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect, receive or sell any of your information.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores staff names and job titles, start and leaving dates, the date, method and result of each check, who made it, permission end dates and follow-up dates you enter, notes, the PDFs or photos you add (which may include copies of identity documents) with their file names and import times, and your business name if you enter one for exports. This is kept in the app's private storage on your device.
The app does not upload your records to us and has no online service of its own. Apple's App Store services are contacted only to load prices, make purchases and restore purchases.
Your records can leave the device in two ways: when you choose to export a check pack (PDF), a spreadsheet (CSV) or a backup file, which goes only where you send it; and through your own iPhone backup (iCloud or computer), which may include the app's data depending on your backup settings.
Permissions
Camera, only if you allow it, to photograph documents for your records.
Photos: when you choose existing photos, the system photo picker gives the app only the photos you pick. The app does not ask for access to your whole library.
Files: the system file picker is used to pick PDF files to attach to a check, and to save or import a backup file. A backup includes your attached files. The app only reaches the files you choose.
Notifications, only if you allow them: reminders before the follow-up dates you set, and when records can be reviewed. These are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent from a server.
Device authentication (Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode), only if you turn on the app lock. The app never sees your face or fingerprint data; iOS only tells it whether unlocking succeeded.
Information about other people
Right to Work Check Log may hold information about your staff, including copies of their documents. You decide what to enter and you are responsible for it under UK data protection law. We never receive it.
Purchases
Right to Work Check Log offers a one-off purchase that unlocks unlimited staff and exports. Payments are handled by Apple. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. To know what you have unlocked, the app keeps the purchase and transaction details Apple provides (such as product, transaction ID and expiry date) on your device.
Links
The app may open GOV.UK pages about right to work checks in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Deleting your information
Delete all data in the app's Settings removes your records and attached files. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device, including its settings. Exports and backups you made yourself are not affected; delete those separately.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the effective date before the change ships.
