LetCheck privacy policy
Effective 31 October 2026.
In short
LetCheck is a check-in and check-out property condition report app for UK landlords and letting agents. Your records are stored on your device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not collect, receive or sell any of your information.
What the app stores, and where
The app stores property addresses, report types and dates, room and item conditions and cleanliness, meter readings, key counts, notes, tenant comments and disputes, whether the tenant was present, photos (with the time they were taken or imported), and the names and signatures of the people who sign a report. This is kept in the app's private storage on your device.
The app does not upload your records to us and has no online service of its own. Apple's App Store services are contacted only to load prices, make purchases and restore purchases.
Your records can leave the device in two ways: when you choose to share or export a report PDF, or export a backup file, which goes only where you send it; and through your own iPhone backup (iCloud or computer), which may include the app's data depending on your backup settings.
Permissions
Camera, only if you allow it, to photograph rooms and items.
Photos: when you choose existing photos, the system photo picker gives the app only the photos you pick. The app does not ask for access to your whole library.
Files: the system file picker is used to choose where to save a backup file (JSON) and to pick a backup file to import. A JSON backup contains your report data and the file names of photos and signatures, not the images themselves. The app only reaches the files you choose.
Information about other people
LetCheck may hold information about tenants and other people named in a report (names, comments and signatures). You decide what to enter and you are responsible for it under UK data protection law. We never receive it.
Purchases
LetCheck offers single-report credits, a yearly plan or a one-off lifetime purchase. Payments are handled by Apple. We do not receive your name, Apple Account or payment details. To know what you have unlocked, the app keeps the purchase and transaction details Apple provides (such as product, transaction ID and expiry date) on your device. The app also keeps your report credit balance and which reports have been exported.
Links
The app may open GOV.UK pages about private renting and the How to rent guide, and the Tenancy Deposit Scheme website in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Deleting your information
Clear all data in the app's Settings removes your records and attached files. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device, including its settings. Exports and backups you made yourself are not affected; delete those separately.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the effective date before the change ships.
